I'm a bit torn on this though; at some points it sounds prog and avant garde as hell but then there are times when it sounds like some generic deathcore or something.

wow i think im the only one that likes the rap part. sure its limp bizkit-ish and very silly, but who gives a fuck. its fun. and different. i'd choose that over whiny vox any day.

I'd much prefer whiny cleans over that rapping, it is terrible. I have cut the rapping out of the songs so I don't have to listen to it now.

This album is pretty damn good. Minus the cheesy rap part, it kept my interest pretty much the whole time. Sometimes there are a little too many blast beats though

we can all agree however that his clean vocals are amazing. so much character in his voice. and 4:44 on distanced by dissonance, is possibly the coolest riff ever. but yeah, the songs definitely do drag on.

I can see why this band would have a polarized response. I find everything they do, other than the rap, to be extremely tasty. And like the above poster, I also think the vocals have a lot of character. More so than most of the proggy singers out there.
