I don't listen to it anymore, but this is a much better album than many people give it credit for. I'd give it a 3.5 or so.

This album wasn't bad, it was that album Meteora which killed it for them.

I thought Meteora was good, but it's nothing if you compare it to this album.

This is the album that got me into metal. I have to give it some credit. It's far better than Meteora imo.

And why the hell do you think One Step Closer is the worst? It's the best on the album. This Message Edited On 12.24.05

i didnt like one step closer very much at all, the part where chester screams "shut up!" numerous times just killed it for me...

good review by the way

Good review. I think this is an absolutley fantastic CD, but that's just me. I totally agree with just about everything you said, but I have a few ideas of my own about Pheonix being the worst bass player in the world. Perhaps you should remember that he didn't actually play on this album; the bass was done by Brad Delson.

GUILTY PLEASURE ALERT!!
Love them or hate them, you can't discount LP's ability to write great hooks and catchy songs. I personally loved One Step Closer, and went out and got this cd the day after I heard it on the car radio. The rest of the songs are pretty good, but man, did they get played out. I thought I was hot $hit wearin my Linkin Park t-shirt around in college, but when they got too popular, and too played out, I had to retire it.

3/5

*Decent review, but next time, try to add more detail on how the songs actually sound.

Decent review, decent album. Like many here I thought LP were quite good at first and I still like some songs on this album, but they have definitely been a disappointment from this album on. Mostly what I see now when I look at them is wasted potential, mostly in regards to Chester (incredible voice) and the fact that they have sunk to their current level of blatant cash grabs(collision course...) and rehashing of the same old formula(Meteora). It seems that this band is a one trick pony. They may yet prove me wrong, but until then I will continue to be disappointed. Their downfall comes down to one thing: lack of creativity or desire to do more than barely enough to please their fans.

Anyway, aside from that rant, this album is still a good listen and has a few very good songs. And thats my slightly more than two cents. This Message Edited On 02.07.06

I don't care what anyone else says about Linkin Park, "With You" is a truly amazing song.

Yeah, this album was a crossover for me and really changed the way I viewed music. For that, it gets a 4.

Ok no Linkin Park really sucks, they were almost good until they started making music with Jay Z.
