Hell no. Advent is the highlight of the album.

And I'm a fanboy of this band, but has to be their weakest album. This or Deliverance.

Deliverance is good if you forget its Opeth. Once you remember then yep it pales to the rest of the discography. MAYH and Still Life ftw

Good review. Climax to Night and the Silent Water and the melancholy of To Bid the highlights. Nectar the least. Morningrise has the bleakest and most dense atmosphere in opeth discog. I prefer Akerfeldt’s cleans pre-Ghost, they’re more haunting and medieval. Too harsh on Deliverance – 1st 4 tracks brilliant and still dig last 2.

Night And The Silent Water was inspired by his grandfather, not mother, but decent review otherwise.

"Hello people!

I don't wanna slag off any of my/our older tunes, but with TNATSW it's different as I wrote that to my grandfather who'd passed away and it was terrible"

And to the people who think this album is boring: :O

Nectar is awesome! It has that scary part! "Red reflection...it is you....". Song nearly made me crash my car, and I'm usually not one to be startled by anything. To Bid You Farewell is sex, and Night and Silent Water is pure fappage. Album gives me morningwood.
