It's got enough shining parts to be a fun listen but it has loads of problems no doubt. I don't get all the 1.5's or 1's though.

I dunno I love this as much as their previous records.

@LG: That's kinda what I thought, but enough people talkin on here seem to have enjoyed MCR's past stuff so I'm not sure if that's it. Definitely too much hate for this band all around though.

This album sounds like a grower to me.
@andcas: can you post some form of reminder to listen to that in my shoutbox or something? Can't listen now.

He was talking about the scrapped Stooges-esque record andcas. Thats the album they were planning on releasing until this summer.

it's a shame because it probably was better than this album.

I'm not sure who this album is aimed at. Are the kids really crying out for glam rock? It's like they're trying to alienate every demographic.

Thanks Xeno.
And Phlebas, it's just what the band wanted to do. It may not be to your liking and they probably lost more fans then they gained from it, but it wasn't something the label asked them to do.

Not sure how you can know this. If the label had forced them to alter their plans for the record it would probably be brushed under the carpet. That wasn't my point though. I just assume that most musicians have an idea of who'll want to listen to their stuff, and I can't imagine who's been waiting for a glam-rock revival.

I don't know it for a fact. I was gonna edit the word probably in there but forgot. My point was it's just what they probably wanted to do and give a fuck if anyone liked it or not.

lol i'm not going to be the one to perpetuate the romantic artist, the musician making the music he or she wants regardless of sales prospects. and i'm sure as shit not going to suggest that my chemical romance even approaches that ideal...
i'll just say that i'm not sure that i hear whatever departure you think they made (from popular rock music; their departure from the black parade is obvious)...
