Decent album from what I remember, and a pretty good review, but I don't think it was that big a step forward from SBG. Nothing Death ever made beats out Individual Thought Patterns anyway...

@Smalley, While this is nowhere near as advanced as Individual Thought Patterns, the stylistic differences between Leprosy and SBG at too big to ignore. Some development in Technicality, and musicainship had taken place.

I still consider ITP to be better than Symbolic simply because I don't really get the felling that they improved upon ITP with the following album. Symbolic is great but the only difference between the previous one is a less melodic feel ( as the melodic player of King Dimond was absent for the recording of Symbolic). It wasnt untill their 1998 album that they surpassed the sophistication of ITP IMHO. It's just like how Master of Puppets isnt a major improvement upon RTL, as both are in the same vein. Regardless, There is not one Death album I wouldnt recomend to someone.

TSOP is their worst album

Why do you say that? Most people i've encountered say is spiritual healing that is their worst (although I dissagree). TSOP Basically improved upon everything Death did earlier, although I still don't consider it their best album. But, I do see how it's their worst.

TSOP is their second best behind Symbolic. But then again I prefer their later stuff as it is more progressive
