agree with you guys. matter + form was awesome, arena is one of my all time favourite songs. this album was a bit too slick for my taste. it´s vnv nation after all, and my expectations concerning this great (also live!) band are high. can´t wait til september

I'm waiting for the US tour dates to be announced, but I plan on seeing them this year as well.

Damn, this band would be so good if not for the totally unfit vocalist. As a matter of fact, imo people possessing a timbre such as himself should not sing a t all. He souds like a total grandpa, and this is futurepop! Hence why I'll be stickin' to Assemblage 23 instead.

Well they did coin the term, so his grandfatherly status is deserved.

Matter + Form still is my favourite album of them (and next to "Only Human Remains" by Fractured my first electronic album ever in dec 2005) followed by Futureperfect and Empires.
Need to listen to this album more, haven't done it for few years.
And I like Ronan Harris as the vocalist. His voice often sounds warm and easy to listen to.
I will always have a big heart for futurepop & EBM music (and partly dark / harsh electro).

This is probably VNV's most uneven album. Pro Victoria is a banger of an opener and reminds me of being in marching band; Sentinal is one of my favorite songs ever; Tomorrow Never Comes is a good, driving track. Defiant is a bit too bright for me but still energetic and uplifting, and When There Is Light is a good closer. The rest I can take or leave, and the instrumentals on Verum Aeternus feel almost cloying to me, although I appreciate the experimentation with a different kind of sound.
