Good review, but I personally think the really high ratings are right on. I love how "Speak Now" and "The Story of Us" soar in a power pop way. She has such nice variety, too - the country-flavored "Mean," the punk-flavored "Better Than Revenge," slow burners like "Enchanted" and "Long Live," beautiful singer-songwriter type ballads like "Back To December" and "Never Grow Up," etc. The lyrics are definitely more mature. I agree about the end a little - perhaps "Innocent" could have been cut. Also not a huge fan of "Haunted."

Haunted has grown on me like acne on my forehead
Glee probably hasn't done Swift because there's little opportunity for dancing and Lea Michelle would sound pretty terrible singing it. I also think they should have a pay-per-view Britney Santana sex tape episode, which is looking more likely every week

immense popularity is the last reason i would use for disliking an artists music and generalizing her detractors in that way is kind of lazy
good review but also a bit bloated and hyperbolic

Yea I’m aware that your reviews aren’t aimed solely at sputnik users
and yes there’s lots of people who dismiss her based on her image and popularity but also plenty more like me that actually sit down and listen to the records and think they’re completely uninteresting musically. I could overlook some of the flaws and schmaltz factor if the actual songs weren’t so sterile and characterless
and as for those who like to point out the fact that the subject matter of her songs can be perceived as juvenile, well, those people clearly need to turn inward for a few minutes, because what Taylor Swift sings about are things that everyone has felt and will always feel
nothing wrong with the subject matter, the hallmark card lyrics are the problem

dude this review is so hard to follow.....when you review an album. Talk about the album!!! I don't need to know who she's dated, the history of how she became famous, or how many records she's sold. Just talk about the album, and shorten the length of your reviews more.

i see it, though i dont agree.
maybe its something like:
so you pursue "glee's messiness yet enjoyability in spite of flaws" in the first paragraph and then
in the second you use it to lead into "The obvious point here is that Taylor Swift's Speak Now is
similarly messy. On some level, it makes me want to wax philosophical about the child stars of the
2000s, who seem very different from the child stars of the latter half of the previous millennium.
However, child star rules don't seem to apply to Taylor Swift. "
and it's sort of hard to see to what end you made your first (the "messiness") point, except to lead
into another point--you don't really draw a conclusion from that whole first paragraph other than
"well taylor swift is like this too". and then youre off with the 2000s pop stars comparisons.
but maybe not idk don't hate just tryin ta help

Review was okay-ish once you actually got to the point, but it took so bloody long to get there, it was ridiculous.

chan you don't think this is better than just 'good'??

If I could just give an example, you go for nearly 1200 words of the review before you actually mention one of the songs on the album. I'm just saying that you're in serious need of an editor, or maybe less weed.
