Nice stuff. Pos. I think between me you Rudy and Channing we make a fair case for this album haha, although I think your and chan's reviews are more in-depth and analytical, mine focussing more on why this is as good as Fearless or better and why she's just awesome.

@irving: i wouldn't say it is like nickelback because they have repeated themselves for about 3 or 4 straight albums now. If Taylor Swift makes 2 more allbums in the exact same vein, then I'd agree with you. But for now, she is just taking her proven sound and providing some slight variations on it. thanks as usual for the feedback, too
@brick: swift and gaga are both pretty good at what they do...i think with artists like them you have to keep in mind that their goals are different than that of other, perhaps more meaningful, music.
@knott: yeah, hopefully we are helping some sputnikers overcome their bias and check her out. i'm not being unrealistic i know this isn't a 4.5 for most people, in fact a lot of people won't really like Swift at all. but she is worth at least one full listen and based on what other users are rating it, i'd say several have converted

Listened to some of this (first time listening to her music) and it's pretty decent, so far. Don't know if it's a 4.5 for me, though. Will probably end up as a 3.5, with a slight possibility of becoming a 4.

Good review, SowingSeason. I am glad Taylor is appreciated by many here. While not perfect, this excellent album compares to such country-pop greats like the Dixie Chicks' albums, Pam Tillis's "Sweetheart's Dance," Sherrie Austin's "Words," Martina McBride's "Wild Angels," and Garth Brooks's albums.

This really really is hardly country.

it injects just enough twang here and there to not completely alienate her country fanbase, but you are correct knott

my personal favorite bit of twang is in the chorus os Story Of Us when she says "when it all broke down"

i love how towards the end of the song the chorus is like doubled over and plays in the background, it's just so damn infectious.

I for one am very interested in seeing what transpires next. We'll see!
Also, always a pleasure to check your stuff out Sowing. My money is on you making Contrib before Taylor turns in her 4th album. Haha! ;)

I hope she goes a little more country in future. Can't see it though.

i don't see it either. an entire album in the vein of picture to burn and mean would be awesome. in fact, i think the radio-pop direction will fail her if she tries it again next time. a switch back to her country roots would serve her best.
with that said, this still slays ; )
