Bought this today, such good essay music. Which is perfect 'cause I have 4000 words to do by Monday.

I liked the Cloudburst album, accessible crafted melodic music, not boring easy listening music some pieces had the real strength of classical music structure behind them. Haven't heard this but I'd guess it's similar.

Yeah man, you totally nailed the high school aspect. He spent a couple days at my high school in '05 and it was a highlight of my four years. Classy guy...but probably gets a little tooooo much credit than he deserves. Nevertheless, it's nice to see someone in the classical world write to create a beautiful aesthetic. Most of the modern stuff I play in college is serial-based and it just doesn't have an emotional impact near anything like "When David Heard" or "Leonardo Dreams..."

Cool album art

Well there are different kinds of 'beautiful aesthetics' which can have an emotional effect, and I'm not sure that a large amount of music is actual 'serial' nowadays really. Modernistic isn't necessarily the same as serial. If he is getting hyped that just seems to be the nature of the record industry, as long as he doesn't end up dumbing down his music for sound tracks/new age/ easy listening.

Ask anyone who participated in their high school choirs or bands in the last decade, and they will likely gush over the mention of his name.
haha, this is genuinely true, i remember asking my classically trained friend if she knew of or had sung any of his pieces she was like 'yesyesyes we've done 'xxxx' and 'yyyyy'!'
need to pick this up
