Every time I see a Tom Waits thread bumped, I remember that I don’t listen to Tom Waits as much as I need to, and then I forget about it.

I love this. Oozing with so much damn personality. The live album format with crowd noise incorporated and the mix itself, it feels like a warm blanket in a cold world.

this is the only Tom Waits album I ever got into because my dad had a copy of it on vinyl and I used to put it on all the time when I was younger. Afaik none of his other stuff captures the same vibe so I wasn’t interested.

I enjoy him on the level of just his songs, Rain Dogs is such a masterpiece, but this is like teleporting to another world.
