Whilst your review is well written and fairly spot on with songs, I picked up on one major niggle.

You say that Panda Bear is the Brian Wilson of the group, 'always considered the be the songwriting mastermind of the band.'

This is a ridiculous and misleading assertion. Avey Tare is the songwriter for at least 70% of AC material. On pretty much every AC album the majority of writing stems from Avey. Feels, Strawberry Jam, Sung Tongs and even MPP are all formed of predominately Avey compositions.

Just cos Panda Bear sings like Brian Wilson doesn't mean he has the same creative role in Animal Collective. I love Panda Bear, but since Person Pitch and My Girls people are very quick to make gross misjudgements.

If anything, Avey deserves far more credit than he does, and is actually closer to being the Brian Wilson of the group than Panda.

But, yeah, besides that, good review.

haha calm down. regardless, lennox is still seen as the "brian wilson" of the group, just writing about general consensus.

well no, your assumption that musically it's hard to pin Avey Tare's role is directly linked to what you say about Panda Bear. And you're right, it may be the consensus, but surely as somebody who likes AC music (I'm guessing) you wouldn't want to buy into or endorse what is factually a myth. surely as someone writing about it you'd want to dispel the notion?

Like I said, I like the review, but that part is factually wrong.

not promoting the band, couldn't care less. I never "factually" say anything about the band, I'm only talking about it from a fan's perspective.

pretty much every track has something promising but nothing really comes together; "oliver twist" and the short one do it best out of all of them. but yeah, boring
