I love that song, and though its more painful than it has to be, it really rocks.

"Where Did You Sleep Last Night" is a powerful song also. I think the strain on Kurt's voice toward the end of the song is all right. It's better than the strain on "Lake of Fire," in my opinion.

agreed the strain at the end of WDYSLN is pure pain. Lake Of Fire's is more singing in upper register to add some oomph to rather punchless song.

I don't know about that but..
Anyway, this album is pretty good. Lake of fire is a good tune.

I like this album but some of the songs are too redone that they really don't sound as good as their original. But nevertheless it's a good album. Muddy Banks is a better live album though.

This album is tremendous. Nirvana take a lot of heat for a band that really had just three albums and a handful of singles to their name. And the fact of the matter is they were really just getting started and those albums and singles were pretty damn good. This album is pretty much proof they had something that a lot of bands don't and that boundless potential was there. It's also a great glimpse at the strong and commanding performer that Kurt was. He is absolutely compelling on this album, the covers are chosen well, and the band sounds great. One of the better live albums of the last 25 or 30 years, IMO...This Message Edited On 04.23.06

Good review for a terrible band. I can't hide my disgust at Nirvana, even unplugged it just sounds like some pained douchebag over some even more painfully simple music. Good lyrics if you could understand a word the guy said. But Kurt Cobain almost destroyed the art of guitar playing single handedly and gave us a world where no-talent hacks can string together a few power chords and make millions.
I now consider my spleen vented, but nice review anyway man.
Shut the fuck up. Painfully simple music? Some of the best songs in the world are written with simple music listen to Bob Dylan and The Beatles. Cobain destroyed the art of guitar? Again...shut the fuck up.

He was not Hendrix, but he could shred the crap out of that thing.

Someone hasn't heard this album. You think he destroys the guitar? Listen to "Man who Sold The World" and say that again. Besides, I don't even think that's possible. It's his style, and people's style varies.

This is such a special album to me. This was my favourite record for about a year a while back, and I still stick it on a fair amount. Good review and a phenomenal album.
