Pretty underrated, gets lumped with Hours and Reality but it's much better

This, Outside, The Next Day and Blackstar should put to bed the idea Bowie's last decent album was Scary Monsters

I was going to buy it on Amazon. His albums are selling like hot cakes at the min and it's sold out. Hopefully a new generation will wake up and appreciate the legends.

The revolution starts now doof dude!

I've never met anyone who's totally dismissed Bowie's work. I think some of the 'lesser' albums will be reappraised. Cool reading Eno saying he and Bowie felt Outside was some of their best work and overlooked

Yeah same here zak I was going to pick up Earthling but they've all gone. Makes me happy to know his albums are about to be appreciated all over again.

Some of his stuff is quite hard to digest when your an angsty bellend aka me at 14 but yeah even then I appreciated it.
I haven't given this one the time it deserves its bloody great, I'll give outside a proper listen.

I loved Earthling when it came out, still got a soft spot for it

Zak I don't usually recommend making a playlist for an album but with Outside for repeat listens you have to drop some of the spoken word tracks. If it was a ten song album it'd be right up there for me just a lot of mental Dave to wade through

Little Wonder was one of the first Bowie songs I ever heard so maybe it's just the nostalgia but I've got a soft spot for some of the other tracks on the album.

I think I've got Earthling down as a 2.5 so admittedly a bit shit but just the nostalgia that I thought it was a jam for about 6 months lol

Earthling is pretty awesome despite being Bowie's most dated album. Dead Man Walking is such a jam.

The dated sound is part of the charm I think

Yup, it's a heroic misfire / lovable failure. All part of the Bowie discography charm

I always thought it sounded like Tekken music.

Just makes me think of where music was at in the late 90s, with drum and bass at the height of its popularity and such.

I reckon its because Blackstar was my first full Bowie album experience but upon first listen I'm enjoying this more than when I tried to jam Low.
