great tough guy hardcore. super quotable and pissed off. also a nice variety of riffage surprisingly! a little beatdown, a little metalcore, lots of crossover thrash and of course hardcore. great shit. scott is a legend.

Now that's an epic bump. This is the band that got me obsessed with hardcore punk after seeing them with some big deathcore/metalcore bands. Keep Your Mouth Shut was the first trve hardcore song I ever heard cuz it was on a Trustkill sampler that came with Bleeding Through's The Truth in middle school. Had no clue about the differences in subgenres then. This is honestly a modern classic at this point

easy to see why! hardcore through and through but a bit more accessible and catchy. really memorable and helps the riffs aren't super monotonous. the callouts here are next level lol. terror and hatebreed are great entry level stuff. i'm now finally getting into pure hardcore after years!

Glad to hear you're digging it! It may not be the most original genre sometimes but its influence on the foundation of every sector of core is undeniable. To me, the more straightforward stuff just hits different unlike any other music. Gotta check Secrets of the World by Trapped Under Ice next. Maybe my favorite in the genre

And Trapped Under Ice is pretty sweet too. I never listened to much of them but I love Pleased to Meet You. One of the best pre-breakdown shoutouts of all time.

yeah the influence is crazy, it's everywhere now. that's what really got me going back. lot of newer metalcore bands are really hardcore influenced. i also agree, nothing like something simple done well.
and a modern one eh? i'll add it to the list!
