They will never record anything as good as From Your Grave as long as they do this melodic death thing. Needs more thrash.

i personally have liked Darkest hour for a while although i would say they are more on the Gothenburg influenced metalcore side of things and deliver us was sick. but Riders of the Plague was kinda generic but not too bad so i might check this out. good review

Darkest Hour are pretty good at best and Arsis only had one/two good albums.

This is good so far.

No, what's generic is this album and Riders of the Plague with its boring ass pseudo-melodic death metal. It just plods and plods and plods along until it ends.

As soon as they quit being a thrash band, they lost their edge.

This is album is pretty awesome, might lower the rating after a few more listens but so far digging it quite a bit.

Gonna have to agree with the nay sayers. I love Riders of the Plague...well, about half of it anyway...and so far this one isn't doing it for me. I had hope...

"arsis' celebration of guilt is average at best and darkest hour have never been good perhaps you should just stick with your shitty metal instead of attempting to sound like you know anything"

To a certain extent I understand why I can't rate contributers and staff (although some deserve harsh ratings), but why is it that I can't rate the comments of other users and send them to the bottom of the page/site?

It would be wonderful to give a solid "clean my taint" to useless, piece of sh it comments such as this one.

I don't give a damn about any of these bands, but at least the reviewers (staff, contributer, or user) take the time to formulate some sort of thought. This kid is an example of the fucktards that can barely formulate a sentence, let alone useful rational for why this band is shit.

I can't believe I just started getting annoyed at this type of shit, I've been reading it for the last 120 or so days.

"stopped reading after this. none of those bands/albums are any good except for oracle moon."

idk darkest hour are catchy and pretty fun. but yeah not what I would rec people as examples of important melodeath releases or anything

Riders of the Plague was a good/decent album at best. I can see this as only being an average melodeath album.

Itwasthatwas:

It doesn't matter if Rasputin is a good reviewer/poster, that was a useless post. I've read Rasputin's posts prior to this (now that you've pointed him/her out they pop upon and off in the threads I read), but that was a useless post. It didn't give any worthwhile critique to the reviewer and just took up space. It happens a lot here on these forums.

Everyone has their moments, but being a good reviewer/poster is no excuse.

If anything, it makes it worse because an intelligent individual posted an asinine comment.
