Nice to see some good discussion on Russell. I love the guy, for the record - just finished his autobiography and it was a really great read.

loved this, it surprised me how was so true to the idea behind the character and the band as 'the last real rock stars.' movie was no FSM but still great in a different way. review was no FSM but still great in a different way.

Movie was genuinely funny (mainly because of P. Diddy) but the soundtrack is pretty awesome. "Furry Walls" is just amazingly catchy.

I first heard him in Sarah Marshall, and I thought his voice was just a little better than average, but in Get him to the Greek, his voice really evolved and he became a very noticeable artist. And to say that him music is all about drugs and is hard to follow without having seen the movie is completely untrue. Take Going Up, for instance. It's a sad rock song about how his father abandoned him and, in turn, made him strive to be great. What artist has music that is understandable without knowing what happened in order to write that song?

The Aldous Snow character is a lot like Russel Brand's early life. Brand was a former sex and drug addict, so it could be that he used that as influence for the way Snow acts.

Should definitely become a real band.
