I agree with the review. When I first heard this, I thought I must've downloaded a bad copy. Surely, they couldn't be serious. I had no idea Animal Collective came from such an odd background. But the more I listen to it, the more I fall in love with this album.

This is a great album, but it takes many, many listens to understand. I bet most people who rated this album only listened once or twice which i guess is fair enough but if you put in the effort it really pays off.

well that was on my old account where i only 5'd my favorite albums
i'd give this an honest 4 or 4.5, probably a permanent 4.5 cause it really opened my ears to a lot of
new ideas on how to approach music and got me enticed into like how silence or just really quiet
moments in music can bring out some awesome stuff. also it holds one of my favorite songs (meet the
light child) and always hits the perfect mood for whenever i don't know what to listen to
everything animal collective does is genius for me, they're like one of my favorite bands/artists

it's probably a stupid album to a lot of people and i can bet a shit load of super smart music scholars (LAKES) will attest to it being one of the worst things of all time but i don't rate albums off of musicianship just how it compares in enjoyment to the other things i've rated
i love this album lol, it hit me as hard as everything else i gave a 4.5 so it stays there
and yeah, kman all their old stuff is incredible
