Right. And you didn't take the time to look me up, see my picture, where I worked and post mindless spam on my shoutbox before.

If this album had more songs of the quality of Hellhounds on My Trail, Tie My Rope and Banned From Heaven it would get at least a 4 from me. But it has stuff like Lobodomy and One Day You Will Cry, and a lot of songs that are just... there. IMO, this sounds like a collection of B-Sides, with some exceptions.

@Rugter32: Yeah, I'll admit a chunk of the songs are forgettable and almost feel filler-like, but I find all of it relatively enjoyable.

@Metalstyles: AYDY? lacked energy, it wasn't devoid (which is why I mentioned the singles, they, "Next In Line" and "We're Not Gonna Fall" were up to standard). But the weaker tracks (Punch Me I Bleed, Bastards of Bodom, If You Want Peace, Prepare For War) really brought down the great moments. At the expense of key standout songs, this was more consistent overall and, thus, more enjoyable and superior all told.
idk, in my honest opinion I think you just don't like the songs and thus do not find them energetic. "Punch Me I Bleed" = energetic; "Bastards of Bodom" = energetic. Not saying they're excellent songs (though both are ok imo), but they definitely had energy in them. Also, while AYDY? definitely had its higs and lows, this doesn't fare any better. If you put stuff like "Lobodomy" against "Banned From Heaven", then the gulf in quality between them is huge. This album is in no way consistent (in my opinion).

@Metalstyles: I don't see how you can find "Punch Me I Bleed" energetic; it's so slow, lifeless and just a huge drag-borderline torture. And honestly, "Banned From Heaven" isn't one of the stronger points on this album while "Lobodomy" is perfectly decent. The worst it gets is "One Day You Will Cry" and "Smile Pretty For the Devil." But I'll take the worst here over the worst in AYDY? and most of the strong points here over the best on AYDY?.

d00d ur doin it wrong

I find Banned From Heaven to be easily the best song in this album. Punch Me I Bleed is slow, but pretty emotional (At least as emotional as CoB gets which is... well, not much) and definitely not lifeless as you say. And Lobodomy decent? Wow... just... wow...

Ok seriously, in my mind that which you said makes no sense, but eh, each to his own. You like what you like, I like what I like, and that's that.

And it makes no sense to me that one can actually like "Punch Me I Bleed" yet not like the stuff here, let alone like that song at all. :/

Hellhounds, Blooddrunk, Tie My Rope and Done with Everything, Die For Nothing are the top tracks to me and the rest (aside from the weaker tracks in my above post) and essentially mid-ground quality. Again, more than I can say for much of AYDY?.

In any case AYDY? is my favorite album of theirs alone with Hatebreeder, so eh. Well, we both enjoy different songs in each of their albums. However, you are right that Hellhounds, Blooddrunk and Tie My Rope are some of the top tracks of the album, I'd just disagree with the last one, I'd put Banned From Heaven instead up there.

Fair enough. FTR and Hatebreeder keep alternating for my favorite CoB album though.

If You Want Peace, Prepare For War was the best song on AYDY?

As for this album, it's horrendous. And I absolutely love Bodom.

Holy Hell! this underrated( bonus:05) hating of this album feels more like an intolerance problem than anything else valid. So funny. And, fucking yes it is far from perfect. And, that Alexi Laiho was an extreme riffers with a lot of talent. I like him even more when i saw how hateful people are.

The way it is.
