While I love seeing a 5 review for this it's very meh and lacks content and reason. The album deserves the 5's it gets imo but your review doesn't explain why.

I used to think that about Aesop until I really started listening, I was surprised to find out that at least 9 out of every 10 of his songs actually do have a coherent and cohesive meaning. It's just difficult as fuck to pick up on.

I like his lines about if we didn't have skin, then we would be less shallow

Dude, it summarizes it pretty damn well.

And emo-rap is either a genre name or a stab at acts like Atmosphere. Usually off-beat backpacker stuff gets lumped into there.

As for Aesop, love the dude. Got all of his stuff. Some of it stands out as fantastic, and some seems to be overly cryptic for nothing but the sake of being cryptic. It's his bag, and I don't dislike the guy nor will I detract from any of his work because of it, but don't expect me to put in the analytical work to solve it.

How does it summarize it well? You explained how he used Randy Savage as a verb and that was about it.

Plus it reads choppy, bulk it together.

emo is a pretty stupid term, thus emo-rap is.

yeah if I was going to classify something as emo-rap, it would probably be more of the pop-rap stuff like Gym Class Heroes or some shit.

but it still doesn't really make sense, since emo is a form of hardcore. lol, so maybe hardcore rappers like Onyx are emo, right?
