I always use to think the same thing Scott. I still love the man to death, but this is upsetting.

Ok Rudy, you know I am taking the argument to the nth degree. What I am saying is that you could have a football (any code) player who is miles better than anyone else in his sport, but he won't "practically" be able to win a game by himself. Where-as, that is almost possible in basketball. And I'm not a hater by any means, it used to be my chosen sport for a while there... Until guys who were 6 inches shorter than me starting out-rebounding me.

LG, you're a hard task-master.

Mordecai, I wish I had dibs on the new Anberlin album, as that could have been my summary right there (replacing Ian Kenny with Stephen Cristian of course).

Sorry, someone beat me to the dibs.

It will have to wait until the new Def Leppard album comes out. ;-)

I'd put this right up there with Universes, to be honest. Although, they still are a little under where I think their potential lies. But still definitely a good album.

Amberlin is shocking. Anberlin on the other hand is a totally different matter.

This is not up to 'Universes' for mine. simply because the top end (ie: the highlights) are not as good here imo.

I'm a huge Ian Kenny fan, so I've GOT to check this out. Loved their last album.

Good review.

I didn't care too much for Universes, so I doubt I'll enjoy this at all

Thanks CutMan.

You're crazy AugustBurnsBread, but if you didn't enjoy 'Universes', I would doubt you would like this. Although, Billy's review suggests this is better, so you never know.

It depends on who he is playing for Rudy. I am when he is in the green & gold. I've been a huge Spurs fan ever since the Robinson days.

BTW, do non-Aussies get the "mongrel" comment or is it a localized colloquialism?

Karnivool is awesome but I can't really seem to get into these guys as much, even though Ian Kenny has a fantastic voice.

*raises hand* I meant to ask about the "mongrel" thing, myself.

You make me sad ttb.

Mongrel - when used in this context - is basically slang for saying it/they need to get rougher & tougher.

Truthfully, I've only listened to a few songs so far, so I might like it more if I gave it a deeper listen. I doubt anything from these guys could top Themata, though.

I figured that was what it meant, but had never heard it before. So, thanks.

Tiesthatbind: Yeah, I prefer Karnivool, too. But I still like these guys. It's nice to see two sides of a vocalist- not to diss the rest of the band.

Awesome review, and I see what your saying but I absolutely adore this album!

Favourite tracks would be Plans, Saddest thing I know, The Gap and in the veins.
