Brah: hitting the nail on the head there man. I always used to see his warbles as a kind of nervousness, especially given the kind of "child in the big wide world" approach he had on Bitterness...

Good review. Tbh I've never been a huge fan of this band. Although A Snow Capped Romance was a pretty good album, and Brock Lidow's vocals were quite good, here they are absolutely abysmal; he really can't sing.

I disagree; there's parts here where he almost sounds like his old self, they're just few and far between though

quality review as usual Jason, you should apply for contrib next time there's an open spot.
I think I should probably work on 36CF's back catalogue before I get this, eh?

It looks I'm in the minority when I say that I thought that this album was awesome. I'm only on my second listen, but the first time I went through I was definitely pleased. I'm not a huge critic though, so maybe I'm being too nice. I just dig this band and am glad that even though they have basically not changed their style in ten years, they at least have not become worse.

Great review. You mirrored my thoughts almost entirely, if not entirely. It's been sad to watch this band change like this...

Cheers guys, appreciated

Yeha I also like the new album,as well as all of their previous ones.
I was kinda surprised when I heard it at first, because of the heaviness they are providing now.
And I thought that this record isnĀ“t as catchy on the first view, and it takes a few spins to really appreciate the songs.

aaah, this review was exactly what I didn't want to read.

they really jumped in head first creativity wise on A Snowcapped Romance, and since then it's like they're just settling with an uninspired metal sound. I'll still take this over 90 percent of the genre, but they need to rediscover that sound that really separated them from everyone else.

Pretty much my thoughts

Wow.You nailed it with this review. 36 Crazyfists was always one of those bands that stood out to me,
but this album really let me down. Once, the clean vocals were unique and the drums were creative, but
not any more. Like you mentioned in your review the drums follow the same pattern and the vocals seem
uninspired. A Snow Capped Romance really captured my attention, but now they have fallen to
comfortably into the "Metalcore" genre. I'll probably still pick this album up because for some reason
I am still drawn to 36 Crazyfists, but that is getting weaker and weaker with each album. This is hard
for me to say because once you've seen 36 Crazyfists at their best it sounds awesome.

Yeah props for the review. Unfortunately anyway that I look at this it's a disappointment.
The thing is, they've chosen to go for this heavier sound with the growls but in reality A Snow Capped Romance is their heaviest album in a sense because of his emotional singing, it just hit way harder than this.

I guess I'll check this out. Saw them live once, but I don't think I've ever sat down and gave a song of theirs a good listen.

Good point well made Jesus

I'll probably still keep this album in my iPod though, just to round out their discography. If this was their first album it'd probably be a 3, simply because the music isn't all that bad but yeah, when you stack it up against Snow Capped, Bitterness, and to a lesser extent Rest Inside The Flames the album just falls flat

Band started giving up years ago.

I had a feeling you might say that Balls, I guess it just depends how you reacted to their last two albums
|

They get progressively worse with age. Like bad cheese. I hope they read my post. FUCK YOU.
