It's good thus far... Thinking a 4 for now seeing as how the album gets better...

I'll actually have to listen to this in full, but most of the songs I heard were lame. Good review though buddy.

The first couple tracks released kind of sucked, but they are the worst on the album. Look up God Hates Us.

for a first review this is very well written. The only thing I would do is stray from using the track-by-track analysis next time. Look forward to your next review though dude.

Very good review. You are right about having to do a track-by-track, the songs are all so different.

I also agree with you on your opinion on Nightmare. When I first heard it, I thought the album was going to be poor, but I was very wrong. Why they didn't release any other song off this album as a single is beyond me.

Great review for a first. I know you felt a track-by track was necessary, but your first few paragraphs were great in setting it up, I think you'll do fine in writing non t-b-t's in the future. I'd also take out the closing notes section. Although I'd probably agree with the sentiment, it's unecessary.
I still need to listen to this, but this doesn't sound too bad, especially if "Nightmare" is the worst thing on it.

Yeah, I knew I would get a lot of flak for it being track-by-track, but that truthfully is the best way to review this album.
No, it isn't. Trust me.
Also... while I admire you for what you said in the last paragraph about trolling and worshipping this band, it would be a good idea to put that in your first comment... it's not exactly part of the review.

Good, honest review. Can't say I love track by track breakdowns...but it seemed like more of an added feature than taking the place of the review itself.
The review seemed free of bias, reletively speaking as well.
Good job.

@tiesthatbind it's by far the worst thing on here.

Thank you for the constructive criticism everyone! My next review will probably be the next Symphony X album, whenever it comes out.
I agree, I'm thinking of taking out the "closing comments" section.

why are the first two reviews of this album TBT, it just shows how the writers are incapable of putting together their thoughts and comments for the album as a whole.
people aren't going to listen to an album because there are several tracks you think are awes0me, people arent buying individual tracks theyre buying the album as a single item and such the review should be about the same

I did put my thoughts about the album as a whole. That's what the entire first half of the review is. The TBT part is just to get into specifics.

Fiction is an awesome song, never knew the Rev could sing that well.

im going to listen to this when it comes out, but i can't escape the feeling that this is a 3 masquerading as a 4-4.5 because of the rev's death
