Wait so you hate this album because it got them popular and myspace endorsed this?
This album is a lot more consistant, the first album had two or three good songs and the rest was really bad filler.

Review is too short, especially when the first paragraph just describes the band's background. Album is not bad, I nearly agree with the rating.

I didn't say I hate this album (I do my best to go by the rating system, so 2.5 means average not OMG i hate this band). I just think it represents the peak of their immaturity. Every song has an identical structure and is full of gimmicks (like having an 808 before every single breakdown). Granted, I don't think anybody in their right mind should take TDWP very seriously, and I mean that as more of a defense for them rather than an attack. I appreciate the raw energy their debut has, and it was fairly fresh as far as I could tell when it first came out.

i think this album is very original i have not heard their use of breakdowns before ever i think it is very brutal and makes me want to fight people but not really because fighting is bad

I'm just saying these guys can generally be looked to as the band that amped up the synth-driven, genre-mashed,
gimmicky, title-your-songs-with-Rugrats-references craze. They offered a surface-level, instantly digestible pellet of
heaviness, melody and humor that a lot of kids hadn't heard in such an instantly gratifying (albeit shallow) kind of way.
Still, I understand that there isn't anything truly, wholly original about their sound.

The Devil Wears Prada is one of the few metalcore bands i truly like. The vocals, both screams and cleans, might be what hooked me. The band still sounds really great all around though, especially on Plagues.
