you were right to mention that the lyrics were incredible, but focus on analyzing the music a bit more. overall i enjoyed reading this review. also this isnt directed towards you in particular but i don't feel that illustrating the atmosphere qualifies as analyzing the music...at least on its own. are there people on this site that have ever taken a music theory class? i don't mean that in a derogatory way i just think that bands like this should be complimented on things like fantastic chord progressions, change in dynamics, artful use of chromaticism etc.

ohhey banion. amazing album and good review but

"Hospice creates atmosphere like no other I have yet to experience."

this sentence doesn't really make sense. how can you compare it to something you haven't experienced yet?

still, fine job

Well yeah that's why I let that part speak for itself and talked about Thirteen when she talks about how she's under a house ya see?

Plus some people don't know SP's life story like my female friend does so I thought I'd quote a couple things to show the references...

yes. fortunately it's not required in order to know what you're talking about, even the things you used as examples.

I've also taken a music theory class. But strikeyikeyikey is pretty much right.

Interesting. Ive found from personal experiences that most people with a good sense of music do innately know what they're talking about, but I still highly recommend taking a class if you get the chance. It did nothing but increase my appreciation for my favorite bands, and that alone made it worth it for me.

and i have to disagree knott to some extent. Chromaticism is a concept with so much depth to it. i doubt very many people who havent taken a class understand even the basics of chromaticism like secondary dominance.

You go write a review about chromaticism and see how many people identify with what you're talking about. I'll go write a paragraph about how the music makes me feel.

For the most part, people on here aren't crazy good musicians. It's important to not talk down to them if you want them to check out something.

But I do see what you're saying.
