This album has some good tracks, not terribly memorable though.

I am grateful that I tasted the fruits of Tony/Ian collaboration.
Some of them taste fantastic.

Best Martin and best post-Mob Rules after 13 and Dehumanizer

My favorite Martin album is '' The Eternal Idol'' and really close second comes this one.
13 is overrated imo.

I consider The Eternal Idol a good album, but in my view this is a better version of it. 13 is pretty great for me, I like that the songs are lengthy and varied. It's a very self-quotation album (probably far too much) but with such a messy discography it's probably the best way to end the career, by closing the circle. I haven't jammed it in a while though, so I can't say exactly which I prefer between 13 and Dehumanizer (though it's likely 13).

The drumming in 13 is so generic...It would be a different almum with Bill behind the drums.

Ward is missed for sure but they went for a big doom sound, I don't mind the drumming. It's not completely lifeless in my opinion.
By the way turns out I prefer both Dehumanizer and Cross Purposes to 13 (which I still think it's good). I was a bit blinded by my highlights, which are Age of Reason, Damaged Soul, Zeitgeist (can't help it) and Methademic even if I have to suffer through the CD's ear-slaughter for that particular one

I almost prefer Tony to Dio

Why is this so much better than Dehumanizer

"so much better"
naaah
Though Dehumanizer does suffer from getting tedious as it goes on so this could edge it for me too. Both great albums anyway, underrated.
Immaculate Deception's vocals are killer
