someone help me out on this.

i upload the cd to my computer via itunes and it says that the album is the European Edition. Im pretty sure that it was purchased in America and not the European Edition. what is the difference between the two?

dave navarro is a dick. imagine if the chili's would have still had john for this album, being made in between their two best albums. over this is not a bad rock album, but for being the red hot chili peppers i hated it.This Message Edited On 12.29.05

duhh with john gone the band wuz obviosly gonna sound different. it isnt fair to compare this album with bssm or cali or frankley any other chilis album. the chilis have evolved and changed their sound countless times. (listen to the debut and then by the way) but just cuz its diff dosnt make it bad. dave and john are both very very different guitarist but i cant say i like one better than the other. deep kicks gotta be my fave w/ daves great guitars. fleas bass part in areoplane is ridcoulous i fuckin love it. and yes sharponed spoon my friends is a very good song not the best but good. lyrics kinda similar to knock me down. id like to do a review but dont have the attention span to do it so i compliment u on making one.

The most "rock" album of any Chili's album, they just sort of miss the mark with this one. Dave Navarro is one of the big problems, as he is a good player, but an ill fit for the Chili's, who are more at home with a guitarist who is looser and funkier then Navarro. This album has some good songs on it, but some of the performances fall flat or wander into over the top buffoonery. And the Chili's hearts don't sound 100% into it. Not a bad record it has it's moments, but some of it just sounds forced and by rote. A band just going through the motions at times. Good thing John F. cleaned up and got back, otherwise this may of been it for the Chili's....

Brilliant album, terribly treated by fans but I am very fond of it. I really dig the title track and Warped it's a shame really that Dave has become victim of hatred for help making this album, I don't see the other members being blamed. I don't think Dave put in a bad performance.

Great album! paved the way for the next 3 discs.
The only reason it was badly received was that it was the first of a new style of chili peppers music, people were expecting more hardcore funk and were thrown off by this new mature sound.
I still don't have this one, but if it's as good as it's singles i love it!

i disagree strongly with your ratings but you did explain yourself which is good, so it is only your ratings i object to not the review i love this album it has a beautiful mix of both relaxed and energetic songs.

and just to correct your review...when you said "but it is a mystery to whether he really quit or he was forced out by Flea and Anthony", you would be wrong because he was asked to leave but Anthony and Flea, Anthony explains this in his autobiography, 'Scar Tissue'.
And things did not set off slowly after he "reluctantly" decided to join, he happily agreed to join and was good friends with Chad and Flea, also said in Scar Tissue.
