i thought the ep was disappointing, and i am a big brand new fan--they're a great pop band. i have a way better acoustic version of "the quiet things" (w/ full band)--the guitars on this record sound so hollow. the demo of "logan to gov't center" is alright, but come on, it's been floating around the internet for ages, and the break-down is waaay weak. and the demo of "good to know" is just awful. let's all thank brand new's producer for hammering out that one--it's a great song on deja entendu, but the demo just doesn't do it for me. the vocal melody is too off. oh, and the "oh, holy night" cover is just plain bad. he doesn't even sing it in his range.
the only thing that made this worth is was the acoustic version of "the boy who blocked his own shot". it's definitely awesome--the song sounds great and jesse's voice is top shelf.
the record is a two out of five, at best.
if anyone wants the ep, or at least, the one good song on it, contact me. i'll be happy to send. i've got tons of other rare brand new mp3's, too.
