It's not that I, as an Against Me! fan, think they sold out for money while I am in a dumpster bitching.
The real question is how the hell does a band like how early Against Me! was, who were so relevant, passionate and had a sound that could incite a riot, become so watered down to what we have now? This band was so important and they threw it all away in my opinion. That's why I won't listen to them.

Tom started the band when he was like 17. He changed as a person (like obviously everyone does) and it would have been disingenuous for him to keep churning out the same sound as he approaches his thirties. That would've gotten stagnant as shit anyway.

Music is mostly a meritocracy and Tom has every right to make as much money as he wants; anyone who tries to argue otherwise is probably full of shit. I could give a fuck less about "DIY punk ethics" and anarcho bullshit or whatever. It's fucking hilarious to watch this band's dumpster-diving fanbase get butthurt about the non-aesthetic qualities of this album.
That said, this album is a shitheap.

Honestly, I'm digging this and "I was a teenage anarchist" too. I grew up with the ideologies he promoted back in the demo days and now I kinda see where he's gone since then and it makes sense.

This album is garbage anyways, sounds like every other shit band on the radio and I'm not just saying that because I'm pissed about them changing.
