I agree that the songwriting is WAY better on this album. They have improved immensely since Determined, though that's not saying much because I loved that CD, awesome writing on that and Gone Forever as well. Great band, solid album. Not metalcore
Good review, by the way

Whatever, Metalcore or not this album is incredible
And personally, I really like the clean singing
God Forbid is a tight live band as well

god forbid is no way a metalcore band...bullet for my valentine is metalcore for example....i just get really annoyed when people start labeling bands like lamb of god or chimaira as metalcore

I can't believe there are people who call lamb of god metalcore. Thats insanity.

Yeah, metalcore's supposed to have some clean vox in it. What Ive heard of LOG is all good ole screaming and growling, you'd have to be stupid to call them metalcore.

I think "Gone Forever" was their best album, but this album was pretty close...this album has one or two filler tracks though...

The Lonely Dead is a great song, needs higher than 2 out of 5.

I've only really taken the time to listen to The End Of The World, but from that I have
high hopes on the album. Oh, and these guys are Melodic Thrash with a few metalcore
influences left from early God Forbid. This Message Edited On 08.05.06

God Forbid are metalcore, end of story. Not thrash, not anything else. Metalcore. The only thing they don't do that other metalcore bands do is rip off At The Gates and In Flames.
Hell, if anything, this album has much more of a hardcore sound than the last one. I hesitate to even call it metalcore-they pretty much sound like Sick Of It All with guitar solos.
That said, Constitution of Treason was a killer album. Great riffs, great guitar solos, great songwriting in general. You guys seem to call them metal just because metalcore is a "bad" term, and it's not. Metalcore bands can be good too, y'know.
To Tarantino's Tarantulas-Lamb of God are also metalcore. You can't say they're metal just because they don't use clean vocals.

I never heard the cd Gone Forever, but from all the good things said about it in here... i will definitely need to check it out. But for this album... i love the guitar work/ the vocals in it... the drum was definitely nothing amazing, but it was good for backup. all in all, it was a nice listen. This Message Edited On 07.18.07

This album has the best apocalyptic concept to it. I hated the concept done on Year Zero.

Agreed. It pisses me off with the little recognition they recieve. One of the better modern American Metal bands today. Put on a mean show as well.

This band, and Converge, are pretty much the only relevant metalcore to me right now.
