Listen to this knowing the singer lost both his parents in a car accident when he was young, the lyrics are awesome especially in 'The Permanent Rain'.

On debut LP 'Reach For The Sun', Maryland's The Dangerous Summer look to expand on the promise of their prior EP. While clearly consistent, the results are mixed, with the maturing quartet needing an extra shot of energy, experimentation & hooks. The variation in pace & melodies are too subtle, while the impressively layered guitars barely stand out. This is due to the spotlight being shone on the relatably reflective lyrics, which have been well refined to better suit AJ Perdomo's passionate vocals. It's still great (especially for a debut), but this band seems capable of better. Recommended Tracks: Surfaced, The Permanent Rain, Settle Down & Northern Lights.
