I read this album was written as 1 song of 40 minutes in length, and then split into 13 tracks. Wouldn't surprise me an awful lot, given tracks such as "I".. still an amazingly good album. Love it.

this album pumps you up, but i don't know if its that good

I can only listen to it when i'm angry

i'm torn between 3.5 and 4

i'll give em the benefit though

4/5

good cd, but it's a concept album where all the tracks are meant to be played simultaneously after one another, making it somewhat difficult to pick and choose the songs. still, great album if you need to unwind

Wow. This album is one of the best things I have ever heard. I loved every minute of it in every listen so far. This is the first album I've heard of theirs. Where should I go from here?

backwards, get the EP 'I' which is a 21-minute song. Not quite as hypnotising as this but there are some impressive breakdowns on it.

i really thought it would never get better than "I" and than i heard this.

if they get any better than this they might just blow my head clean off.

In case you don't know, the new album's going back to days of DEI and Chaosphere which means the material will be faster this time. I still hope there's some of their current style to it.

A mix between the first half of 'I' and Catch 33 would be killer.

i would enjoy to hear some more furious stuff from them like they used to be. some that is in the last three tracks of catch 33 and it is actually my favorite part of the record.

as long as they keep the furious vibe but do something new.

i was just listening to "war" and it's amazing, that song hits like a brick in the head. you just get this WTF daze. a whole album like that would be amazing.

than again anything from them seems to be amazing lately. This Message Edited On 12.29.07

They're a pretty consistent band. Enjoyable album but I prefer Destroy Erase Improve.

I was such an amazing album. it blew me the hell away. this album was a little bit of a dissapointment but it's still a testament to how this band is always making something completely different that no one else is doing.

You can hear Meshuggahs new single "Bleed" on youtube or something now, its sooo sick...so fast....so technical.

Catch 33 is a crazy cd, but i think ObZen (cd coming out in a couple months) is gonna be their masterpiece

Well, to be frank, it really is their best. Some truly mindblowing tracks on it.

Just gave Nothing some spins as I was craving some new Meshuggah (needless to say I can't wait for obZen). Although I thought it too slow and repetetive 3 years ago and never really listened to it since, I must say I'm glad I gave it a chance; Much better than I remember it. Bumping it up from 3 to 4. The album has some of the meanest and most grim tones ever created by a guitar, it's just crushing. Especially the tuning on Obsidian is out of this world, think it's an half or whole step lower than F#.

So now after the previous post I'm definitely excited for the new album. If it really is their best yet this going to be teh awesomeness pure!

I put "Personae Non Gratae" on repeat whenever I am about to do a heavy deadlift @ the gym. Probably the best song to get pumped up to. So immensely heavy and mind numbing haha

This album was surprisingly good. Got it at Virgin records right before prog nation, listened to it a few times while i was away. Despite it being one long song, i found it easier to listen to then most meshuggah, it felt shorter than "I" to me even. Best Meshuggah album definitely. My favorite part is probably Personae Non Gratae-Dehumanization.

Oh, and the album art rules.
