Review is good, band is not.

still the weakest album they made

The most noticeable change is the frequent addition of Armenian melodies. This is most evident on the amusing Radio/Video, which stands among System of a Down's best songs, despite bland and unimaginative lyrics. The mixture of Armenian and more standard metal riffs add diversity to the already eclectic sound of System of a Down.
They've always incorporated Armenian melodies in their music, this wasn't a 'change' for them.

^^
i think what he's trying to say is that they're more noticeable on this one... which i'd be inclined to agree. the Armenian influence was definitely there on the other albums, but its in your face on this and Hypnotize

I think it's more prevelant in Hypnotize than this one. But that's getting kinda nitpicky.

Daron's voice is perfect for "Lost in Hollywood" IMO; and that's saying quite a lot, since "B.Y.O.B." and possibly "Violent Pornography" are the only songs off the album that I prefer over "Lost in Hollywood."
Are STA and Hypnotize any good? Those are the two I don't have.

@Dylan620
Hypnotize is decent. 3/5. Has some of the band's best material, has some of their worst. I reviewed it, here's the link if you want a more in-depth analysis http://www.sputnikmusic.com/album.php?reviewid=36692
STA is awesome, 4-4.5/5. I actually prefer it to Toxicity, but I'm in the minority group there.

Click the skip button for "Lonely Day," got it. Should I just download the best songs or take a risk with all of Hypnotize?

I'd take the risk and get the whole thing. A lot of people like the entire CD, or at least most of it. Before buying/downloading, I'd listen to the songs online or check out previews, although.

I just got STA at f.y.e., looking forward to checking it out. Listened to Hypnotize's title track, and I said to myself, "SOAD just bored me for the first time." Maybe "Holy Mountains" and "Soldier Side" will be better? Or what about "Tentative," I remember that being praised in another review.

Holy Mountains is one of the band's best. Soldier Side is like the title track, but not boring. Tentative is decent, some parts are very well written, but a lot of it seems a bit half-assed to me.
