when do you say "neko case KILLS it" do you mean in a good way? or do you mean she ruins the record?

backup vocals for the most part. in fact, i thought the dap-kins were easily the most important guest spot here, the horns really add a lot to some of the songs here. forgot to mention that in the review

glad you like this robin

theres still one part of this band that really gets to me which i guess is comprised from them being a 'super group' - i dont know if it's case or bejar, or maybe its not either. i cant help but feel its case tho after comparing destroyer with middle cyclone

rudy tell me what to think

what destroyer album did you compare? i always thought neko case played a much bigger role in the band, especially nowadays with Bejar's songs not really appearing that much different from newman's on this record. and case's vocals are such a vital part of the new pornos sound that i just think she's a much bigger presence in the band

and get fox confessor dammit

this night or whatever the album is called. the one with the really hazy, stoner version of hey snow white (how can you WIN some?). the thing is the one song i really can't stand on this album (puts 4.5>4) is my shepherd and it sounds like case's creation. proves a point for me in that the songs she sings on take odd steps a lot. that said, she rules on twin cinema.

i also got electric version recently so sssshhhh. and i'll get that too.

Agree that Challengers is their weakest, but that's not saying much from me - I find all their albums to be an absolute delight. To me, a new NP album is as big an event as a new A Fine Frenzy album.
