It's heartbreaking. Songs like "Marz" are about him wanting to go back to the candy shop in the city he grew up in. His longing to be able to relive his childhood without fear and hatred.

Thanks, appreciated.
Ok, that sounds about as bad as it gets, you have to respect him for achieving anything in his life. I've got Pale Green Ghosts which is a tough listen but I like it, I've only listened to 3 songs on this will definitely check it out.

Marz is one of the three I've listened too, didn't realise the backstory to it. Loved the way he sings what is effectively a simple list in the verses and gives it so much feeling

This is really good.
Even Chicken Bones makes me laugh- I swear it shares its main melody with a Kid Rock song
Last three songs are a flawless ending to the album

Just heard his singing voice for the first time a few days ago on that new Susanne Sandfor single and had to check this out. Album is very good.

What a stirring record. Fitting that he mentions "Honeybear" on the opener, that album def comes to mind.
