This is a bad review. You're criticizing the artists' demeanor and choice of guest musicians more than the music itself. I would understand if you explained why a particular ethnic guitarist were a better choice over Frusciante, but you aren't, you're holding up the choice of artists as your "proof" that the album's greatest target was commercial success. All this while also criticizing the album for being a "spawling mess" of the nontraditional and a pompous show of unstructured passion, the exact things an artist would try to avoid if their aim were widespread commercial recognition. This review contradicts itself and makes assumptions about the artist's intents that are as left-field as you claim those very intents to be. Stick to reviewing music that you can digest. Proper reviews aren't about ranting and raving about how much the douchebags in that band were trying to make a buck, especially when that accusation is this far from the truth.
