BallsToTheWall's summary for his Seasons review simply read "Bro Metal." I found it brilliant.

if you were wondering about how to avoid the TBT, you pretty much can keep everything you had up until the TBT and then from there just focus on the CDs overall sound, the Strongest points, the weakest points, etc and one piece of advice i've gotten before is try to describe the band in a way that would make sense to someone whos never heard that band before

wrong. Chapter 7 is by far and large Sevendusts best album

It doesn't really suck that much. Actually, it's quite listenable and some tracks are really good. Unraveling is atrocious though.

Splinter is such a fantastic song. Forever Dead is also awesome.

Wait, what?

In terms of tightness, melody, emotion and catchiness, 'Animosity' is leagues ahead of Ch. 7

I started listening to this again a few days ago. I'm starting to like it a little bit more than the first few times I played it.

Whoo, great to hear ;)

Meh, I think that Bro-Metal comment was a bit ignorant sounding. Anway, this album fits right in line with pretty much any of their past albums asides from that poopy seasons album that everyone seems to think is so great.
I feel like with sevendust, 3.5's have become damn near automatic. I've never seen a band stick to their guns with such consistency as they have, and on top of it kept their sound reletively fresh along the way. Gotta give them props for not giving up on their integrity.

Just on a side note I'm pretty sure Clint supplied lots of backing vox throughout the album.

He did, Chuck. I just couldn't tell at first but he definitely added a lot to the mix.
@Puckingham: Missed your post for some reason. The bro-metal comment is a joke, I got that off the Seasons review. And yes, they are pretty consistent, yet fresh at the same time. Thanks for the comment.

It's their best album to me. The most catchy I'd say.

A lot better than the stuff they've put out without Clint but a lot of parts sounds strangely similar to some Animosity/Seasons songs. return of hooks and diversity in terms of tones please me but i expected a bit more though.
