If you're saying Circa Survive is a post-hardcore band and that there are several bands of that genre out there better, then you're right, becuase Circa Survive is not a hardcore band anyway, they're an Indie band. And actually how accurate are your "70%" statistics' you have there? Most people like this band becuase yes, it's Anthony Green, Anthony Greens' singing voice that is. Don't critisize people that do like Circa Survive just becuase your opinion of them isn't so high.
Anyway, back to my opinion of the band.
This is actually one of my favorite bands', if not my favorite. I love the singing voice of Anthony Green, and the lyrics. I bought this c.d as soon as I heard the band, that's how much I liked them. I actually like every song on their c.d.

circa survive>that lame animals fighting stuff

the sound of animals fighting is a bad attempt at "experimenting" IMO

All is Ash or the Light shining through it is a great song by The Sounds of Animals Fighting, though that's all i've heard bar a dumb ambient track.

The single off this is pretty catchy, the other songs i've heard are okay. Pretty average band, fairly cool sound.

I heard "Act Appalled" and really liked it but I don't think I'm going to be checking this out anytime soon.

I love this album it is amazing

My favorite song is "In Fear And Faith" mainly because of the one line "and if I last through the winter/I swear to you now I won't call" and the part that goes "it's too late/it's too late/they won't let go/i've followed five footsteps through that open door, open door."

While I'm still better for having it, the album is a bit... samey. While the band knows what they're doing, they just kinda keep doing it - a lot. "Act Apalled" is fantastically catchy and very palatable, as is "The Great Golden Baby", but nothing else really stands out for me aside from the bonus track. Not bad, but nothing terribly earth-shattering. And while the vocals are extremely high-pitched, they are surprisingly spot-on in terms of accuracy, and usually rather clean and well-delivered. Nothing really superb in the guitar department, however.

as someone who is deeply into the hardcore/metalcore scene right now.

Circa Survive's "inuite sessions" as well as "juturna" will always be my soft rock break.

I like many of us first heard anthony through Saosin. and yes he may sounds a little girly or however you wish to describe it. but beyond all of that. the guy can write.

I dont see many songs from him that can be described as a filler or one of those songs where the band likes a certain melody and they just put the best fitting words in without meaning. he always has some message into his songs.

whether your into indie or not. take a look at the lyrics. it gives a lot more credibility to this band and what they are bringing to indie music today.

Circa Survive is superb.

"In Fear and Faith," "Act Apalled," "We're All Thieves," "Holding Someone's Hair Back," and "Stop the Fucking Car" are all amazing songs.

This whole album is a masterpiece. Takes a few listens to fully understand it though. Compared to new Saosin, Circa Survive's new album is a masterpiece. The lyrics on Juturna are heavily influenced by Greek mythology and well thought out. Definite contender of album of the year.

This album's fucking awesome. The first few times through I thought Act Appalled and In Fear and

Faith stood out a lot too, but I think maybe they're just easier to digest. I fucking love every

song on here now, with the exception of Always Getting What You Want. The album just has such an

awesome atmosphere and while Anthony may be the biggest talent in this band, his awesome vocals are

the centerpoint so it works well.

The instruments on their own are alright, but nothing to write home about. But that's okay, because

the swirling guitar riffs are basically there just for Anthony to sing over, and in my opinion they

sound great together. It's a pretty unique album if you ask me. Some of their influences might be

pretty apparent but they add their own sound to it all and really I think they made their own sound

pretty well.

I personally think this band and its albums great. And honestly the first time i heard it at my friends house i thout it was a girl signing. I thought it was a bit rediculous, but i decided to search them up and fell in love with the band. It has such an organic feel, it isnt forced like many other post-core bands do. Now more into death metal and its subgenres and also digital music. But once i listened to this band it really changed my mind about prog/ post-core music.

Favorite Circa Survive album! Didn't enjoy Blue Sky Noise as much as this and On Letting Go is out of the question.
