so in other words Palace, you're saying that no two albums or bands can sound alike? cuz no offense, but that's a pretty stupid argument. there's this thing we call genres...where we group together music that sounds alike.



just playing music in the same style as another band, or directly influenced by another band, is ABSOLUTELY FINE. it's done all the time. it's only bad if they don't do a good job of it, and Norma Jean happens to have done a fantastic job.



what WOULD be "punishable" is straight-up plagiarism, which is what you're accusing Norma Jean of. problem is, plagiarism wouldn't be just copying a style: it would be NJ literally lifting riffs straight from WATR and inserting them into their own album as their own stuff. i've listened to both albums, and i can't name one... not ONE instance, where NJ does this.
