Have you heard CSNY? They cover a wide variety of genres. Their song "Wooden Ships" is easily progressive. And if you have yet to hear, Yes plays a similar version of Progressive Rock. CSNY also have a Roots side. They play many Country type songs, like CCR.
Good job :thumb:
Yes i have heard all of these bands, they have some songs that could be similar but if you wanted to generalize them instead of say some songs then they are related. But whatever.
Yes is a kickass Prog rock band by the way.....Ill do the roundabout.....

Okay here, you have four different member from four different bands. Each member produces a different sound for most their songs. And it just so happens that a few of them commonly write progressive songs. Wooden Ships, Deja Vu, Helplessly Hoping, Guinnevere, ect. Not counting that both are known for fabulous vocal harmonies, and each were pioneers of "stacking" vocals. That is not generalizing.

Hey Badmoon, you should change the rating of Teach Your Children. The last three words you wrote about the song would make you a huge hypocrite. :p
And, it just is a plain great song.

 Well, my views on the album have completely changed. So, I'll update it sometime.
|
Deja Vu and Wooden Ships, I would think you'd pick Helpless.
My views have changed too!
I think Wooden Ships and Helpless are my favourite now

I'm pretty sure Helplessly Hoping was a Nash song.

I don't understand how you can give Deja Vu 5 and Helplessly Hoping a 3. Deja Vu lacks flow, while Helplessly is one of the best folk songs ever.

Okay here, this is an old review. My opinions on the album are hardly the same, but it's irrelevant. Believe it or not, not everyone has your opinion.

I've heard the Jefferson Airplane version of Wooden Ships, they wrote it with Crosby and Stills I believe. How does the CSNY version stack up?
