No, they're telling ten year old girls to be zig-ah-zig-aah-craving b*tches. The differences is subtle but substansial.

Lol youre funny dude ^_-

In reply to morrisey yes you're rite a lot of songs are about sex granted but Led Zepplin and the beatles aren't aimed at 10 yr old kids are they that's why I'd rather let a kid listen to slipknot than this

May you never have children.

I just read your BSB review and it's crazy how much your opinions can change from one band to another. I'm surprised you can laud one so much while trashing the other. :

I stand by my 3 stars, this is a solid pop album.

Really good review too, even though I completely disagree with you.

Not to bump an old argument, but I'm just going to bump an old argument.

Leaving Led Zeppelin aside because I can't honestly argue that they are marketed toward ten-year olds, but the Beatles definitely were. When the Beatles hit it big in late 63/early 64, how old to you think those kids were that were screaming up and down the streets of every city the Beatles visited? The average age couldn't have been more than 14, and you can guarantee there were a fair share of ten-year olds swooning over Paul McCartney.

Comment too long

Beatlemania aside, do you not think films like Yellow Submarine and songs like "All Together Now" are marketed to kids? Even if it wasn't the Beatles intention, there is hardly a kid in the world who hasn't sung along to "Yellow Submarine" or "Octopus' Garden" with their parents, classmates, or friends. Imagine that, they also know sexual songs like "Why Don't We Do It In the Road?" which can't possibly be argued to be less sexual than a Spice Girls song.

But the real point is that the Beatles were the Backstreet Boys, the Duran Duran, the SPICE GIRLS of their era. They were marketed to preteens/teenagers in their Beatlemania era and there is no denying it. Music is cyclical, I've argued this countless times over many posts on mx. These bands sing about adult topics, but they are marketed toward preteens and teenagers. You may not support it, but in the words of Celine Dion, "that's the way it is".

I agree with Morrissey. It's not as terrible as some make it out to be though... That's just because of their image.

I would never ever put on a Spice Girls album, though :PThis Message Edited On 12.29.05

Fair point actually, but the general music is better in the beatles as Lennon and McCartney= Genius. And while I may dislike them in their genre their admired like Abba are I suppose making it a good pop album but thats it.

ah... the 90s. I used to make fun of my sister for loving this album. I saw a music video of theirs where they tie some guy to the hood of a car in a desert or something and leave him there. Fairly intimidating for a budding young male.

neither the beatles nor led zeppelin have anything to do with the spice girls. however, Zeppelin has a little tune called the lemon song in which Robert ever so politely asks his baby to squeeze his lemon until the juice runs down his leg. Sex is everywhere, and it's not that big a deal.

The fact that it was targeted for 8 year olds does not make it bad music. It might have been irrisponsible of the company or even the girls themselves but it doesn't make the music itself wrong. And for your information, they did write all their songs.
