and when you say CoB's worst album you mean better then half the bands ever, best album

HCDR is CoB's worst. Does that mean it's bad? Hell no. It's amazing, like every album they've put out. In some ways I think this is better than Hatebreeder, which had lots of 'meh' moments. This still isn't as good as Follow the Reaper and Something Wild, my two favorites, but I'm loving this to death.

Because bands don't make money if you don't buy their stuff.

It's like Alexi said: When people say they are a CoB fan but they still downloaded all their stuff, the band and label don't get any money, which means they won't get to continue putting out music.
I like to support the band, among other reasons.

just cause i download some of there stuff doesnt mean i dont go to their shows

What the hell! I called my local HMV (in Canada, not the States) and they say the release date is October 25. Has the band released anything official about when this album is to be released?

You missed that? Yes, the release of the album has been postponed for October 25 in North America. They're adding an extra bonus track.

Yes, we get a Ramones cover. w00t. Well worth the month-long wait.
Sometimes I wonder about COB.

It's actually pretty old. I'm sure you'd be able to hear it by downloading or some other means. It's Somebody Put something In My Drink, and it was released a while back around the Hatebreeder era.

I really don't like it when COB cover songs. On FTR, it sort of ruins the end for me.

Me too. I usually hate CoB covers, but there are a few I don't mind.
|
| |
you gotta admit though, the Oops I Did It Again cover pwns the original song, and the solo is overly stylish for pop divas *shakes fist at mainstream media mother****ers* =D

ooh yeah, my gfs got me AYDY? for my birthday =D unfortunately my friend told me and ruined the surprise...... but hell i love all CoB, their bad stuff i just stick with and say hey, its better than punk!

This album isn't as good as Bodom's older stuff. Is it good, definitely. But as mentioned before, it is bodom's worst album.
I definitely would not give this a 4.5/5... prolly like a 3.5/5
Oh and by the way, anyone who said that bodom's broke and that no one actually buys their albums, they go platinum in Sweden and Finland. I still bought it anyways

After reading this review, I downloaded all of CoB's albums other than HCDR (I already had that), and I loved them all. I agree completely with your review of this CD, especially on the standout tracks. Good review.

Great review, I was expecting some 1 out of 5 rating for not being as complex or melodic as their older stuff, but you took it for what it is which is a totally different idea.
I personally didn't like it at first, but I'm getting into it now. I still cream myself over the first 30 seconds or so of If you want peace... etc

There melody is still there. They haven't dumbed down their catchiness or melodic side at all. This time around they just filled in the gaps with actual riffs instead of palm muting one note.

Yes, it's called progression. Would you rather have them re-release Follow the Repaer/Hatebreeder five times, or have them develope a new sound over time? I don't know about most of, but I'd go with the latter. As much as I love their old style, CoB is as capable of becoming boring and repetitive as any other band.

However, that's what they risk doing here...they need to start infusing some more originality into their songs.
EVERY song starts on a C chord...it gets boring REALLY fast. They need to start using different key signatures than just C and D (for their older stuff).
