Of the first four Manowar albums this is the best; fast taker and death tone are awesome!

Death tone and fast taker are superb, as is Manowar the song; a good introduction to the band a good listen.

The re-recording of this is actually amazing, and possibly better than the original

Great debut album. Manowar is the real shit. The re-recording is also great.

It seems to me a strange thing, mystifying that someone has an urge to comment even if he haven't heard the album or sometimes even the band. Don't get me wrong! I am not saying the poor thing is the best piece of heavy metal even recorded but, man, here's what i read - "I havnt heard the whole thing but I find "williams Tale" to be the worte bass solo I have ever heard." So what this guy is even doing in the review page of the album!?!?!?!?

I think Manowar is a good band. Of course their subjects are ridiculous and they seem serious about all the stuff, but - guys!!! -this is just pose! In its most parts hevy metal is pose par excellence. are you really telling me there's a big difference in Manowar lyrics and... say Iron Maiden. Come on!

The thing about Manowar and power metal in general is that many people don't realize that the lyrics are allegorical. For that reason, the genre gets too much hate and for that people tend to miss out on many great bands.

A great debut album, although its not very consistent. "Battle Hymns" is truly an hymn in its own right and "Death Tone" is a fantastic opener.

"The thing about Manowar and power metal in general is that many people don't realize that the lyrics

That's dead on man, but I think that many bands actually believe in what they're writing in a

very pretentious way. It is up to the listener to judge whether to take seriously or not the band's

image or the lyrics.

A secondary catalytic agent nonetheless should that be. For the Bands should be judged for their music

and their music only. Not for their looks, image, stylistics, or way of life.

S/t track is a jam [2]. I recently saw an interview where Ross the Boss expressed his displeasure of the rerecording of this album, even though he still respects his former bandmates.
