Well, sometimes you have to focus on the speed of an album, especially when a thrash metal like this decides to slow down. I came into this review thinking about how fast and punishing the previous albums were. Chaos A.D. is punishing, but in a different way: it's punishing the fans by slowing down and adopting groove-laden riffs.

Groove usually has more interesting riffs imo. Whether or not it's better, that depends on the band and the album.

Well written, but disagree. The first two songs and "Biotech" are epic, and "Territory" is probably the best on here.

I didn't like territory. I liked "The Hunt" though.

There's no doubt BTR and Arise were far superior albums. Consistent and pulsating. 2 stars (which = poor) is still way too harsh for Chaos. First 4 tracks very strong and Propa, Bio + Hunt are good. Deserves at least a pass mark. Chaos and Roots were experimental, lacked consistency and Max disguised his thick accent well in the production of BTR + Arise.

I'm urged to lower this to a 1.5. Refuse/Resist came on my Pandora radio station, and I got pissed. This was so fucking disappointing compared to their earlier efforts. It's just like "WTF were they thinking?" Maybe they ran out of thrash riffs, I don't know, but this just blows ass butter.
