Very cool, been waiting for this. I obviously agree, nice review.
I feel as if I was really let down big time by this band.

While instrumentally the band is sound and well-suited for the type of metal they create, Ikuinen Kaamos seem to have misplaced a bit of purpose, distinction, melody, and probably the most obvious aspect upon first listening to Fall Of Icons, Closure-like atmosphere in their newly crafted work. That, right there, was the basis for my entire review so now I don't need to do one. Great job. (you do need to change that period to a comma in the last sentence of the first paragraph, though). It disturbs me (in a good way) to think about the amount of new releases you must be listening to now that you have a staff job. Where else do you review?

Thank you guys, and thanks for catching that typo, Willie.
I review as a staff for www.reviewrinserepeat.com and as a staff/contributor for www.thealbumproject.net. Any of that is really thanks to this site, though.

Do you review under the same screen name as here?

I just use my real name there too - Jared Ponton or Jared P. Haha, Observer is just for sputnik.

Cool. I'm going to go be nosey.

they finally put me here haha: http://www.reviewrinserepeat.com/staff/
Both of those sites focus on pop-rock, pop punk, indie and the more popular hard stuff, which I get to cover I think.

Both of those sites focus on pop-rock, pop punk, indie and the more popular hard stuff That explains why I've never heard of those two sites, ha ha. Still going check them out, though.

Haha yeah, that and they definitely aren't huge or anything. They are growing a lot from what I know, though.

No, I wasn't talking about whether they're big sites or not... I just meant that even though I like pop punk (and the occasional popular harder album), I don't really go to sites that focus on that stuff as much as I do the metal/industrial stuff.
|
| |
Oh, gotcha. I used to strictly go to those sites, but last year I got into a lot of metal for some reason, so I make a lot of rounds to a lot of places.
Also, kingsoby informed me that I shouldn't contact a label with affiliation to the site unless im a staff or contri, which he is right about. I'll really sorry about that, and I'll stay away from it. These guys' label seemed okay with my just being a user, but still I really shouldn't have.

Yeah, him and I were just talking about that. I was under the impression that you contacted them based on one of the other two sites. The mods don't take kindly to people soiling the sputnik name - unless those people have been promoted to name-soiling status ;)
|
| |
Yeah just make sure to say you're not affiliated and all's well.
Good review.

You've got a girl on staff... I'm jealous.

Yeah, I mentioned that I had the other positions and that that I was a user writer here, even explaining that I couldn't post this until the release date. They were interested in the Carach Angren reviews I had done here (that band is on their label too), so they sent me an invite. That's really my bad though. Zoo mentioned that I could get on their promo list easily, so I just went with it without considering a few things.
