Oh okay.

Whatever he made no impact on my life so I don't care.

Also, if it makes anything better at all, I'll explain my Mast comparisons.

The comparison I was making was that the last album sounded like some of Mastodon's older stuff; at least I thought so. The vocals were very very similar, and the musicianship was kind of like early Mastodon.

When I said that HoF could follow Mastodon, I only meant that they could have deserted sludgy stuff that they started with (just like Mastodon did) and move towards a sound that Mastodon has today (i.e. no sludge).

Also, does anyone know how I can edit this review?

It would definitely be a mistake to simply see High on Fire as "the next Mastodon," as if their career to this point has simply been a string of failed attempts at Leviathan. Your intro is also a bit difficult to follow.

Also, the production on this album is *okay* - you say it's improved, but from what? DitC had better production than this, and they're both miles away from the awesomely noisy, abrasive, live sound of Blessed Black Wings. Pike's vocals stick out too much (though he does sound great...), the bass drums are clicky as hell, and the guitars are mushy and indistinct. The songs are pretty good though!

Well I guess it's safe to say this is my "The Resistance"...

Ulsufyring: Guess not; wanna explain it? Honestly I don't even know which post you're referring to...

But unlike Mastodon, who is often unjustifiably dubbed a sludge band, that very element has always been prominent in High on Fire’s music. And despite balancing the aforementioned sounds to form a more cohesive album, the sludge aspect is still just as prevalent as ever. In fact, probably moreso than on Death, which played just like a Mastodon album in every way. And unless you’re a diehard Mastodon fan, you’ll find that High on Fire’s latest album is light years better than their previous effort, and on every account.

Regardless, I understand the point you're making. What do you want me to do about it?

Take out that entire second paragraph, it really has no business being in the review in the first place. Instead of trying to compare High on Fire to Mastodon, you might want to try a different, more insightful, angle to the review.

That I can do. Thanks for the crit.

I don't know if I'll take any sort of an original angle to the review, but I can definitely alter that paragraph to make it better.
