Phah! I'll admit - I've never been a HUGE Immolation fan until Majesty and Decay came out, and while I still dont rate them in my top 10 most Brutal Death Metal band list or whatever; I'm still not naive enough to deny the fact that Majesty and Decay is some brutal stuff.



Great review, had you not beat me to the punch I was planning on doing this album. 1st two paragraphs were a tad wordy and somewhat unecessary, but otherwise great. This may very easily be my favorite DM release for 2010; Next to Immolation's "Majesty & Decay", Deivos' "Gospel of Maggots", and Fear Factory's "Mechanize" .....though FF isnt really DM....

If the vocalist didn't seem to be trying to sing just like Nergal then this would not be so reminiscent of Behemoth. Monotonous and overbearing he is on almost every track! Takes away from the brutality and power I was hoping to find. Ricky actually sounds like he's playing in a math rock band WTF!
