Just a heads up Copia to be honest was nothing like his previous work, except for maybe An Accidental Memory In Case of Death and When I Live By The Garden and Sea EP. Still haven't listened to this.
Whoops, sorry didn't know there was a second page =]

I really hope I disagree with you, Jared.

I seem to be on the lower end of the ratings, so you probably will.
For what it's worth, I do hope you like it though.

Thanks (me too), and I was so upset that I forgot to say: excellent review! pos

i will listen eventually.
i'll probably love it regardless of the differences.
all of his past works have been loved for different reasons, so i see this potentially being no different.
the first song he made a vid for was amazing, even though i was initially skeptical of him adding vox, but hey...

Comparisons and contrasts to previous works are helpful in examining what direction the band or songwriter has gone, but that's where they stop being helpful. They shouldn't affect your rating for what an album is by itself. Comparisons of Shrouded Divine and Monolith provide another example where this is the case.
Dynamically I think this album is waaay different from Copia. I mean, there are hardly any strings, the melodies are often in the vocals, and, well, there are VOCALS. I love it.
Good review.

There is too much focus on comparisons and too little on actually analyzing Similes. I'm sorry but I think this is a very poorly written review.

Finally gave this a listen. I agree The Motion Makes Me Last and Making Up Minds are the best tracks here, although I certainly also enjoyed Leaves Eclispe the Light and most others to a lesser extent.
