Since we are doing some Miles bump love... [2]
Discog walk: Revisit listening session on a reissue Columbia CD. Late 60s, experimental jazz right here.
Very ingenious quintet, Herbie Hancock is such a brilliant pianist, Miles signature on trumpet is unique, Shorter/Carter/William are also exceptionally gifted musicians.
The atmosphere of this album is, imo, very different than the rest of his previous work. A progressive transition to more experimental, later fusion style. Linking previous era to to the next.
Excellent album but definitively not a favorite. Still, again, i like nearly all of his work. bump rate to 4.25/5

Nice! This second Miles Davis quintet, on this LP 1968 is still using all pre-electric instrument but, he is slowly transforming his music style with new musical structure. A sort of linking album. His discography is so massive. It took me months to arrive in 1970, listening to almost all his studio and the major part of his so so big live material from 1949 to 1970. Of course, listening to many other artists in between (to keep things interested). And, i have other great gems ahead, all Miles 1970s albums are so damn good. Coffee Tea cheers Trif!
Hope you will like this one. Enjoy friend.

"on this LP 1968 is still using all pre-electric instrument"
HYPE! I prefer acoustic over electric jazz almost always. Do love his out-there works à la Bitches Brew though obviously.
"His discography is so massive."
Super true.

Nice approach really, taking it slow to let records work their magic before moving on quickly is often the best thing to do, especially with discogs this elaborate and influential.
Coffee for me, hope you enjoy your cup FR33!! Still on a huge Isa-binge, so Enslaved it is this morning.

Sweet. Then, oh! I think you will really like Herbie Hancock on piano, a prodigy.

Nice gratuitous bump. I can (now) gladly confirm this one is rather wholesome and lovely. In fact, it might be(come) one of my faves in Davis land

Noice. I’ve been doing some homework and have yet to encounter ESP. That’s perhaps a priority check in the near future then.
I’m enjoying “Cookin” too, yet this currently stands the quintessential quintet essential (lul)
