Cool review, listening now. I agree that the first half is significantly better than the second. But tbh, I didn't really like the first four tracks too much either.

you know, i was a real big fan of hot chip's previous two albums(didnt like their first but loved second and third). they were fun danceable synth pop-ish stuff that i really loved.
but this new one is bad, they decided to take a more "rock" approach and more soft ballads, its not without redeeming qualities, but it's just bad that they'd decide to do an album forsaking everything that made them good.

something about this album is so so odd... like disturbingly so, I can;t explain it I dunno. Like I feel crazy saying so because I thought it was sorta generic before... either way some of the singles on here are killer, either "Take It In" or "I Feel Better" are is gonna make my best tracks of '10 list.
