Stadium Arcadium may not have any truly classic tracks like "Californication," "Around the World," or "Dosed" (though Wet Sand comes close) but there isn't one moment where I feel the quality really drops. For a 28 song double album that's impressive to me. I'm probably the only one here that feels that way however.
I agree, you can just put up SA, sit back, relax and enjoy it, but on the other hand, because there are no real classics, it doesn't get too high a rating.
Californication has totally bass driven tracks like Around the World, Parallel Universe, Emit Remmus, I Like Dirt etc. On By the Way it's hard to hear the bass, and when you can hear it, most of the time he's not playing anything particularly interesting because Frusciante went 'no u' everytime he tried to inject a bit of energy.
Ok, strong point.

Universally Speaking is shite.
Dosed, on the other hand, is heaven

Stadium Arcadium is actually my favorite, I prefer the new material in general anyway. By The Way is awesome as well.

I like the melody-driven stuff better than the funk-driven stuff. The old stuff never really appealed to me as much, although I do like some of it.
Why is Stadium Arcadium terrible? I don't understand why some people here say that.

I didn't mean the old stuff isn't melodic, I just mean that the new stuff is more focused on their melodic side and I prefer that, plus Frusciante does a fantastic job on SA, Flea's basslines are some of their best in years, and Kiedis' vocals are ace as well. I seriously don't get the hate at all.

Great work Nag. Album is actually really good and has some chili's classics. I actually really like the closing tracks, especially Venice Queen.

If you judge this as a work of pleasurable pop and not as a strange departure from bass driven funk it's pretty okay, but I agree the lack of flea-ness is annoying (excluding the title track)
